This will be New Zealand's first limited-overs series since Kane Williamson stepped down as captain, following the team’s unexpected exit from the T20 World Cup in June. Santner will guide a 15-man squad, which includes two new faces—Nathan Smith and wicketkeeper-batter Mitch Hay.
